LOVING GOD

Scripture reading:  Matthew 22. 34-38

Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together.  One of them,
an expert in the law, tested him with this question:  "Teacher, which is the greatest
commandment in the Law?"
Jesus replied: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and
with all your mind.  This is the first and greatest commandment."

We are to be living sacrifices.

Therefore, I urge you brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living
sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship.  Do not conform
any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect
will.
Romans 12. 1-2

What does it mean to be a living sacrifice?

     1. Keep our minds and thoughts on God all the time.

     2.  Worship only him  (Deuteronomy 6.13-15)

     3.  Be obedient.  (John 14.15-16)

Love God wholly and completely!

God has demonstrated his love for you.
Have you demonstrated your love for God?

JUSTICE IN GOD'S TIME

Scripture reading:  2 Peter 2. 4-10

4)For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them into
gloomy dungeons to be held for judgment;  5) if he did not spare the ancient world when he
brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and
seven others; 6)if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to
ashes, and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly; 7)and if he
rescued Lot, a righteous man, who was distressed by the filthy lives of lawless men 8)(for that
righteous man, living among them day after day, was tormented in his righteous soul by the
lawless deeds he saw and heard) - 9)if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue godly
men from trials and to hold the unrighteous for the day of judgment, while continuing their
punishment.  10)This is especially true of those who follow the corrupt desire of the sinful
nature and despise authority.

1. The angels are dealt with.  (verse 4)
And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their own
home - these he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on the
great Day.
Jude 1.6

2.  The old world is dealt with.  (verse 5)

3.  Sodom and Gomorrah dealt with.  (verse 6)

4.  God will rescue us from an unjust, immoral world.  (verse 9)

God is in control of all things.
He will deal with things in his time.
